Pancake recipes for all

Check out three recipes below for the nicest pancakes you will ever try!

American Pancakes

For the pancake aficionado this light fluffy American pancake recipe from our Dolce chefs will delight your taste buds. (Serves 4-6)


Ingredients:
300ml Milk
2 ½ Teaspoons of Baking Powder
225g Plain Flour
30g of Butter (Plus additional for frying)
2 x Large Eggs

1 Teaspoon White Sugar
A pinch of table salt


Method:
1. Simplest way would be to put all ingredients into a food processor or mixer and blend well. Alternatively you could mix all the dry ingredients together and make a well in the centre. Pour melted butter, eggs and milk into the middle and mix well with a spoon.
2. Heat a frying pan on the hob.
3. Pour a little of the batter mixture directly onto the pan, wait for mixture to blister or bubble before flipping. Generally around 1 min on each side.

Serving suggestions: Whipped or clotted cream, Maple syrup, Hazelnuts, Chocolate Spread, Blueberries, Raspberries, Banana slices, Yoghurt, or for a treat some M&m’s.

Traditional British Pancakes

A recipe for the traditionalists. Don’t waste your time with a pancake mix or shaker. Let’s do it the Dolce way, fresh from scratch. (Serves 4 @ x2 cakes each)

Ingredients:

3 x Eggs
300g Plain Flour
400ml of Milk
1 Tablespoon of Butter
Spray oil (if needed)

Method
1. Simplest way would be to put all ingredients into a food processor or mixer and blend well. Alternatively you could mix all the dry ingredients together and make a well in the centre. Pour melted butter, eggs and milk into the middle and mix well with a spoon.

  1. Heat Frying Pan on the hob, on a medium heat.
    3. Pour or ladle a thin layer of pancake batter so it coats the bottom area of your pan. Cook for 2-3 min oer until the underside of the pancake has started to turn a golden brown. Then flip and repeat on the other side.
    Tip** If pancakes are starting to stick, use a little spray oil.

Serving Suggestions; Whipped cream, Sugar, Lemon Juice & zest, Blueberries, Honey, Golden syrup, Cinnamon.

Vegan Pancakes
A vegan option for those following a vegan lifestyle or someone looking for an alternative option this year. (Serves 4-6)

Ingredients:
300g Self Raising Flour
1 Tablespoon BakingPowder
1 Tablespoon Vanilla extract
1 Tablespoon Vegetable Oil
400ml Oat or Soya Milk

Method:
1. Whisk all ingredients together in a large bowl, leaving out the milk.
2. Then gradually pour in the milk to the mixture while whisking as you go to avoid lumps.
3. Heat a frying pan on the hob to a medium heat and a little oi.
4. Then pour batter (two tablespoons at a time) to the centre of the pan. Cook for 3-4 mins, then flip and cook for a further 2-3 mins.

Serving Suggestions: Lemon, Maple Syrup, Blueberries, Strawberries, Watermelon, Vegan chocolate chips, Walnuts, Frozen vegan Yoghurt.
