Proud to feed children throughout the global pandemic

When the pandemic hit the UK back in March 2020, suddenly, children across the country were sent home to spend their days homeschooling, crafting, exercising with Joe Wicks, unless they were the children of key workers of course. Either way, all children still needed feeding a nutritious and affordable meal during the school day, in the safest way possible.

To achieve this, we worked with each individual school to create a bespoke solution to serving food both in the school and across the community to the pupils of the most vulnerable families.

In just one of many examples, staff worked tirelessly to deliver a massive 1900 food boxes to families in need across Birmingham, Dudley, Walsall & Sandwell in just one single day.

Julie Spratley, Operations Manager at Mrs Bland’s Infant and Nursery School said, “Catering from Dolce has gone beyond the simple provision of food and drinks to the children and families of our school during the Covid-19 pandemic and lockdown. Dolce has played an essential role in the experience of our children during these strange times allowing us to ensure that our more vulnerable families and key worker children were able to receive either a hot meal each day or a weekly food parcel. Our on-site catering team worked tirelessly throughout lockdown embracing the needs of not only the children but the staff too. If you ask the children, they will tell you that Sam and Hayleys pizza making parties were awesome!”

We are extremely grateful to everyone who played their part in helping feed children during these unprecedented times and to everyone continuing to do so.

Our passion is ensuring that the service we provide is exactly what the individual school needs, despite the challenges we currently face. It makes it all the more worthwhile when we hear from our customers first hand that we have achieved this.
