At Dolce Catering, we’re proud to celebrate an incredible milestone as Iris Hyde – our longest standing employee – marks 25 years with the business.

Having joined Dolce in the company’s infancy, Iris has been a big part of the journey almost from the very beginning. Over the last quarter of a century, she has played an important role in helping the business grow from a small operation into the thriving company it is today.
Originally moving from Hong Kong to the UK to study catering management, Iris joined Dolce with a background in patisserie and began her career with the business as an Accounts Assistant. Over the years, she has worked across every aspect of accounts and payroll, while also becoming central to the smooth running of the wider office operation. Today, she is Dolce’s Office Manager and a hugely valued member of the team.
To celebrate the occasion, colleagues gathered together alongside Dan Curtis, who founded Dolce and now sits on the board. Reflecting on Iris’ contribution to the business, Dan said: “Iris joined Dolce during the very early days of the business and quickly became an important part of the team. Like any new company, there were challenges along the way as we worked to establish and grow the business, and Iris was there helping us through it all. Her loyalty, hard work and commitment over the last 25 years have been exceptional, and we’re incredibly grateful for everything she has done for Dolce.”
Over the years, Iris has witnessed huge changes within the business, from the early days operating from a converted house office in Ashton-in-Makerfield, through multiple office moves and periods of growth, to the company Dolce is today under the leadership of Dan’s sons, Scott Curtis and Adam Curtis.
Despite the company’s growth, Dolce has retained the family culture that Iris says has always made it such a special place to work – something reflected in the fact that her daughter also joined the business over 10 years ago, making it a true family affair.
Iris commented: “It’s hard to believe it’s been 25 years. I joined Dolce when the business was still in its early stages, and it’s been amazing to watch it grow and evolve over the years. I’ve had the opportunity to hold a variety of roles, learn different skills and develop in different ways. Dolce has been a big part of my life, so reaching this milestone feels very special. I’m incredibly grateful for all the support and friendships I’ve made along the way.”
Everyone at Dolce would like to thank Iris for her incredible service and commitment – her contribution over the last 25 years has left a lasting impact on colleagues across the business.
Congratulations Iris!
