1982 The company is founded by Don Davies. He calls it Dee Cleaning Services and operates as a sole trader.
   
15/02/1990 With turnover now at £200K p.a. the time is right for the company to Incorporate under the name of D.C.S. ( North West) Ltd.
   
  The portfolio of services offered has grown to include landscaping and gardening, and the DCS gets its first van.
   
02/09/1999 Turnover has grown to £330K p.a. The firm has modest premises in Ashton-in-Makerfield.
  Don takes his winnings and retires.
 

Brothers Dan and Robert Curtis take control of DCS.

   
01/09/2000

DCS is awarded its first school catering contract in York. The York office is opened and turnover increases to £450K p.a.

   
23/01/2001 With the range of services offered further increased to include Maintenance and Catering, Dan and Robert extend operations into the North East of England. The original name of DCS ( North West ) is inappropriate and a name change becomes necessary. The name is changed to Dolce Ltd.
   
02/09/2001 Seven more schools in York appoint Dolce to provide domestic services. Turnover increases to £850K p.a.
   
02/09/2002 London Borough of Hackney awards Dolce Ltd a three year catering contract worth over £1m. Temporary offices are opened in London and Cornwall.
   
31/08/2004 Cumbria County Council award Dolce £1.2m catering contract for 23 schools in West Cumbria.
   
01/08/2005 West Berkshire contract is awarded leading to the opening of a new office in the area and 70 new primary and secondary schools benefiting from the Dolce service.
   
Oct 2010 Dolce wins an Educatering innovation award for its use of technology in school kitchens. The Live Kitchen system allows parents to preorder from home and pay by direct debit.
   
July 2011 Dolce picks up a Catey award for best use of technology due to its development of the Live Kitchen system.
